COURSE DESCRIPTION

Our new Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) will put you on the path to a career in teaching children from birth to 5 years.

Western’s Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) will put you on the path to a career in teaching children from birth to 5 years. With growing worldwide recognition of the importance of the early years in fostering children’s healthy learning and development, be a part of laying the foundations for children’s educational success as an early childhood teacher.

Our new Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) is specifically designed as an initial teacher qualification, equipping graduates with the specialist knowledge and skills to teach effectively in early childhood education and care settings with children from birth to 5 years.

During your studies, you will gain 80 days of professional experience in the classroom, as well as the theoretical experience by developing a professional e-portfolio throughout the course of the program to demonstrate your capacity to work successfully as a graduate teacher.

The program is flexible, providing both on-campus and/or online learning options to accommodate the wide range of student commitments. Study options include part-time, full time and accelerated mode. Additional credit may be available to those with a minimum of three years experience in the field. This is application based. Please contact the Academic Program Advisor for more information.

REQUIREMENTS

Students must have Successful completion of Year 12 or an equivalent qualification.

English Language Requirements:

IELTS: 6.5 overall score (min 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL internet-based score of 82: Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 58 overall; No communication skills less than 50.
