COURSE DESCRIPTION

Provides a broad knowledge and skill base that will enable students to practice as a registered nurse within the Australian healthcare industry.

The course is designed to enable graduates to be well prepared to make significant contributions to the outcomes of patients within a diverse range of health care settings.

Course learning outcomes

Apply evidence-based nursing practice to address health priorities in all healthcare contexts.

Incorporate digital and information literacy skills within professional practice to inform the delivery of care.

Effectively communicate and collaborate within an interprofessional context, to sustain culturally safe, therapeutic and professional relationships.

Demonstrate lifelong learning through critical reflection and ongoing development within professional practice.

Integrate knowledge and skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate safe, quality nursing care, responsive to the needs of people across the lifespan.

Incorporate culturally safe and competent care within all aspects of professional practice when working collaboratively with patients, families and communities.

REQUIREMENTS

There are various ways to meet our admission requirements, such as:

Secondary school results

Successful completion of one year of tertiary study from a recognised institution

Completed Diploma program from a recognised institution

English competency requirements:

IELTS Academic with a minimum overall score of 7.0 and a minimum score of 7.0 in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing and speaking), including IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR), or

Occupational English Test (OET) with a minimum score of B in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing and speaking), or

Pearson English Test (PTE) Academic with a minimum overall score of 65 and a minimum score of 65 in each of the four communicative skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking), or

TOEFL iBT with a minimum total score of 94 and the following minimum score in each section of the test:

24 for listening,

24 for reading,

27 for writing, and

23 for speaking
