COURSE DESCRIPTION
This major is a challenging and flexible program that develops global managerial competencies for professionals with financial responsibility. Its curriculum is aligned to the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Institute’s Candidate Body of Knowledge and can help you successfully pass the CFA’s examinations.
You’ll learn through in-class learning, guided independent research and team projects. You’ll focus on corporate finance, investments, international business, banking and financial modelling.
You’ll gain hands-on experience with Refinitiv Eikon trading and analysis software and get familiar with the stock market simulation tool StockTrack. This means you’ll have industry standard software, international news services and live securities and commodity prices at your fingertips.

What you’ll learn
Apply finance principles, theory and practice to current issues and trends in relation to financial markets; and extend a knowledge base of finance principles through original research.
Think creatively, critically and reflectively to generate innovative solutions to complex financial scenarios
Communicate effectively to clients, staff, professionals, management and industry within the ethical and professional framework of financial institutions; prepare written academic reports and prepare and deliver oral presentations to a professional standard; and expertly use and evaluate appropriate new and established technologies as they apply in financial markets
Describe and evaluate the impacts of financial markets and instruments in a global system with an understanding of multiple perspectives; apply international standards and practices within a global context

REQUIREMENTS
Overseas applicants require a qualification that is recognised by tertiary admissions authorities in Australia and considered equivalent to the qualifications listed for entry to this course.
Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): Grade C; and Pearson Test of English Academic: 60. IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System): Writing, Speaking, Reading, and Listening: 6.0; Overall band score: 6.5; TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): 79 Overall; Reading 13 Listening 13 Speaking 18 Writing 21.
