COURSE DESCRIPTION
As two foundational organisational, and life skills, communication and project management are the ideal combination to supercharge your postgraduate qualifications.
If you are interested in a career in corporate communications, public relations and organisational communication, you’ll find that the project management extension adds expertise in the planning, implementation and management of projects and programs. Similarly, students pursuing a career in project management benefit by incorporating the all-important fundamental of effective communication and corporate messaging.
Most importantly, having dual qualifications in communication and project management will ensure that your resume stands out in the today’s competitive employment landscape.
Bond’s Master of Communication brings you up-to-date on the risks and opportunities of new and emerging media, examining how they combine with traditional written, verbal and visual communication skills in core business disciplines such as public relations, advertising, organisational communication and more.
Our Master of Project Management steps through the fundamental processes of planning, preparing, implementing and delivering projects in line with client parameters and stakeholder expectations. It also incorporates the core workplace skills – conflict resolution, risk identification, market performance – that impact every stage of the project lifecycle.
The combined Masters program in Communications and Project Management enables students interested in a career in corporate communications, public relations and strategic and cultural communication to acquire expertise in the planning, implementation and management of projects and programs. The addition of project and program management skills enables you to access more strategic positions in your organisation and to be responsible for overseeing new initiatives involving the management of scope, time, cost and risk. Communication is also a key competency of project and program management, and it is therefore beneficial for those pursuing a project management career to undertake a combined program with Communication. On completion of the combined program, you will graduate with a Master of Communication and a Master of Project Management and subsequently be internationally recognised by the Project Management Institute (PMI). In the Master of Communication, you will gain applied skills and knowledge in advertising, public relations, social media, human communication theory, relational communication, organisational communication and leadership, and communication research.
