Your design and problem-solving skills will allow you to critically analyse problem spaces, assess alternate IT solutions, and evaluate outcomes. Application of your IT knowledge and skills will result in considered and relevant IT solutions. You will graduate with well-developed professional attitudes, behaviours and judgements.

Completing this course in just one year full-time, in one of three majors:

  • Business Analysis – design and problem-solving skills will allow you to critically analyse complex work environments, assess alternate information systems solutions, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Computer Science – extends your understanding of computer programming beyond being a mere user of programming language to an appreciation of their design and implementation.
  • Cyber Security and Networks (new) – you will develop abilities in the investigation and appraisal of complex cyber security and networking challenges. and the application of approaches.

Real-world learning

During your studies, you will experience a range of learning approaches, including:

  • project-based units requiring you to apply theoretical and technical knowledge in the development of artefacts such as software applications, business cases, technical specifications, conceptual models and theoretical frameworks;
  • using real world and research-inspired problems within units;
  • using advanced analytical, conceptual and logical thinking processes to solve novel and complex problems;
  • covering relevant contemporary IT and interpersonal capabilities necessary for you to be prepared to move into senior professional positions.
