COURSE DESCRIPTION

Improving how you manage your own time and resources will help you manage others more effectively and ensure your leadership practices are sustainable. This micro-credential is ideal for professionals and leaders from any sector who are seeking evidence-backed strategies to improve their self-management, and enhance their leadership capabilities. Analyse your current management practices: Evaluate your own self-management and leadership practices, beliefs and behaviours, and explore what you could improve. Examine the positive and adverse impacts of personal leadership on overall organisational performance. Improve your capacity to manage time and resources: Gain a strong evidence base to help you manage time and stress, delegate to and coach others, build adaptability and resilience, and achieve greater alignment between your behaviour, goals and values. Explore strategies to better use your own resources (including personal resources such as psychological wellbeing, resilience and cognitive load) rather than reacting to others. Develop your resilience in challenging scenarios: Identify leadership challenges and evaluate personal response strategies to overcome them within your team and organisation. Examine different dimensions of resilience and why these are important. Develop understanding and routines that can help you respond more effectively to challenging situations. Apply strategies to sustain effective leadership: Explore frameworks to help you understand and set future priorities. Plan to implement your learned processes within your own professional context, so you can confidently respond to challenges and ensure you are leading effectively and sustainably into the future.

Skills and learning outcomes: By the end of this course, you’ll have enhanced your leadership capabilities. You’ll be able to: Explain how personal leadership impacts organisational performance, both positively and adversely; Identify leadership challenges and evaluate personal response strategies to overcome these challenges within their teams and organisations; Appraise opportunities to effectively manage limited time and resources, including personal resources (psychological wellbeing, resilience, cognitive load) to enable them to engage in sustainable and effective leadership.
