COURSE DESCRIPTION
As technology disrupts and transforms business models, organisations need to adopt new approaches to strategic planning. This Melbourne MicroCert is ideal for mid to late-career ICT professionals seeking a deeper knowledge of how to approach information systems strategy within a context of digital disruption. Consider how tech is changing business: Investigate the current disruption to our economic and social environments, and consider the impact this is having on the art of information systems strategic planning. Explore the impact of disruptive technologies, competitive environments, digital innovation, and the New Power Model. Learn to use information resources strategically: Explore emerging organisational models and how to strategically leverage information systems in this context. Consider how to use and deploy information resources and justify how a digital approach can provide both business and community benefit. Produce a strategy that responds to disruption: Drawing on your new knowledge, you’ll develop an Information Systems Strategy that responds to an organisational threat or opportunity and could have real-world application within your own professional context.
Skills and learning outcomes: By the end of this course, you’ll have a better understanding of how to approach and apply information systems strategic planning. You’ll be able to: Demonstrate an understanding of key concepts underpinning information systems strategic planning; Apply concepts and synthesise into an Information Systems Strategy Proposal; Develop an Information Systems strategic response to a threat or opportunity faced in an organisational context.
