COURSE DESCRIPTION

STAND OUT AS A PERFORMER

The Bachelor of Music – Performance will guide you to refine your musicianship, develop your collaboration skills and stand out as a performer. You will emerge with the skills and confidence you need to perform on stage and in the studio in a variety of musical styles.

DEVELOP YOUR UNIQUE SOUND

You will develop your unique sound through writing, recording, performing and working in ensembles alongside your peers in major works. Go from concept to commercial release, and build a professional showreel to take with you into the music industry to kickstart your career.

LEARN IN CONTEMPORARY OR CLASSICAL STYLE

CONTEMPORARY

The Contemporary pathway is perfect for instrumentalists or vocalists looking to be professional performers with a contemporary style. You will develop technique and knowledge as you learn the core topics of theory, musicianship, arts management and recording.

CLASSICAL

The Classical pathway involves tuition from classical music masters, with a profound focus on theoretical and technical skills. You will learn to perform in live and recorded settings as a soloist and accompanist in collaborative ensembles with traditional and contemporary composers, performers and musicians.

REQUIREMENTS

For entry into all our Bachelor programs, you must have achieved ONE of the following:

Applicants with recent Higher Education (tertiary) study – at least 6 months full time (at Bachelor degree level or higher) from an internationally-accredited institution
Applicants with completed secondary education matriculation in the last 2 years (NSW HSC or recognised equivalent)
Mature age applicants (21+yrs) not meeting the above criteria but with sufficient previous work / life experience deemed relevant by AIM.

AND

All International Applicants must submit an IELTS (or Equivalent) of 6.0 with no overall band score less than 5.5 or failing that, have enrolled in an accredited English for Academic Purposes pathway program.
