COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification provides the knowledge and skills needed to assist a dentist, dental hygienist or dental therapist during all health care procedures, to help maintain high standards of infection control and to assist with practice administration and supporting quality and professionalism in the dental sector.
Students undertake work experience as part of this course to meet competency requirements and ensure they are work ready.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 300 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services
CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people
HLTDEN015 Prepare for and assist with oral health care procedures
HLTDEN016 Assist with dental radiography
HLTDEN017 Assist with administration in dental practice
HLTINF001 Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures
HLTINF002 Process reusable medical devices and equipment
HLTWHS001 Participate in workplace health and safety

REQUIREMENTS
International students are required to have a minimum of IELTS of 6.0 / PTE score of 52, or their equivalent.
