COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a broad range of tasks when repairing and maintaining the body of cars, heavy vehicles and other vehicles in the automotive service and repair sector.

International students will have the opportunity to complete the program on campus through practical training and assessment and on-the-job placements.
Opportunity exists for 18-month post-study work visa. This makes the student job-ready. Students will develop a range of skills through practical and hands-on work in a simulated workplace environment. They will have the opportunity to learn methods to repair vehicle body components, frame and chassis and repair structural damage.

Students will learn about:

Workplace safety in an automotive workplace

Identifying automotive faults

Removing and replacing vehicle body panels and components

Repairing vehicle frames and chassis

Repairing and replacing structural damage

POTENTIAL CAREER PATHWAYS:

Automotive Painting Technician

Heavy Vehicle Body and Chassis Technician

Vehicle Body Repair Technician

Vehicle Body Restoration Technician

Vehicle Glazing Technician

Vehicle Trimmer

Further Progression: Students can progress onto the next level of qualification within the college.

We offer the following qualifications:

AUR40720 Certificate IV in Automotive Body Repair Technology

or other relevant qualifications

Credits may also include units of competency contained within relevant skill sets and statements of attainment.

REQUIREMENTS

This qualification may be accessed by direct entry.

English Requirements:

IELTS band score of 5.5 (academic test version) or;

TOEFL PBT score of 530 or;

TOEFL CBT score of 197 or;

TOEFL IBT overall score 71 ( No band less than 70) or;

equivalent internationally recognised exam result in line with Department of Home Affairs.
