COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification covers the competencies required to interpret from a source language to a target language, in general dialogue and monologue settings where the interpreter can physically control the discourse to assist retention and recall.
The Diploma of Interpreting prepares interpreters for work typically in the community and business domains, including general health, welfare and community services, educational and social contexts, and tourism. As well as interactions such as initial police interviews, over-the-counter interviews in customer and community information services, non-complex disability assistance, and other informal business and workplace interactions.

However, before enrolling in this course, the students must:
Have satisfactorily completed Year 12 of secondary education or its equivalent or have appropriate and;
Have competent in English (a minimum of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent); or
Have completed an EAP program at upper intermediate level or equivalent; or
Demonstrating vocational proficiency through an entrance examination consisting of two dialogues in a para-professional level interpreting the test. Students will have to achieve 50 percent or higher in order to be admitted into the program.
Suppose it is determined that the student need to complete a Language. In that case, students with no formal qualifications are required to successfully complete the LLN test and meet with the Academic Manager to be admitted.
