COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of light vehicles in the automotive retail, service, and repair industry.

Twenty (20) core and sixteen (16) elective units are required for the award of the AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.

Units have been selected in accordance with the packaging rules and are relevant to the work outcome, local industry requirements, and qualification level.

Pathways

Potential employment options are roles relevant to light vehicle automotive technology.

Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education into a range of Certificate IV qualifications from the AUR Training Package such as the AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis.

REQUIREMENTS

Be at least 18 years of age and have completed Year 12 or equivalent.

Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs.

Have an IELTS score of 5.5 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:

– Educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; or

– Successful completion of an English Placement Test

Note that other English language tests such as PTE (score 42) and TOEFL (score 46) can be accepted. Students are required to provide their results so that it can be confirmed they are equivalent to IELTS 5.5
