OVERVIEW
The Diploma of Beauty Therapy (Relaxation Massage) gives you the advanced skills and knowledge you need to become a qualified beauty therapist, massage specialist or salon manager. Strengthen your existing abilities with a range of beauty therapies including; massage techniques to help people feel their best, aromatherapy, use of essential oils, epilation and application of make-up for photography.
When you study beauty therapy with TAFE NSW, you will learn from experienced professionals and train in purpose-built beauty salons that are open to the public.
You will graduate with experience, confidence and a portfolio of work, as well as transferrable knowledge that sets you apart and opens up a world of opportunity.
Through theory and practical course work, you will learn to:
Provide massages including aromatherapy and stone therapy massages
Provide facial treatments and skin care recommendations
Design and apply different makeup looks
Provide lash and brow treatments
Provide waxes
Provide manicures and pedicures
Gain a range of skills to help people achieve their beauty goals:
A range of massage techniques including aromatherapy and stone therapy
Facial techniques including exfoliation, massage and other specialised treatments
Nail treatments including manicures and pedicures
Skin analysis individualised to the skin type and concerns of your client
Design and application of different makeup looks
Develop the qualities you need to get ahead in this industry:
Strong interpersonal skills to help clients feel comfortable and at ease
Strong communication and time-management skills
High levels of discretion and professional integrity
REQUIREMENTS
Year 10 or equivalent
English Language Requirements:
Academic IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL (iBT) 46 or equivalent
Or Completion of a TAFE NSW General English Program
