COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of information and communications technology (ICT) roles who have established specialised skills in a technical ICT function. Individuals in these roles carry out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field, working independently, as part of a team or leading a deliverable with others. They may apply their skills across a wide range of industries, business functions and departments, or as a business owner (sole trader/contractor).
The skills required for these roles may include, but are not restricted to:
cyber security: protecting sensitive data and information through security architecture and developing disaster recovery and contingency plans
systems administration: reviewing maintenance procedures and support to help troubleshoot system applications

Training is delivered in stages which correspond to AQF Levels V. The preferred pathway for a quali?cation is for students to complete the requirements of the previous level quali?cation before progressing to the next level – thereby achieving more than one quali?cation. Applicants without the previous level quali?cation will be considered if they have relevant quali?cation and/or vocational experience. We aim to equip our graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to successfully satisfy the demands of the workplace. On completion of this qualification, candidates may choose to undertake the ICT60220 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology or other Advanced Diploma qualifications from the ICT Training Package or any other training package to further enhance their career opportunities in their chosen field.
REQUIREMENTS
- Students must be over 18 years of age,
- Students must have completed an overseas equivalent of Year 12
- Students must have either an IELTS score of 5.5 total or above with no band lower than 5.0 or
- Mature age students will also be considered without the minimum education requirements but with relevant work experience within chosen area of study and a demonstrated capacity to meet course requirements
