What is the UNSW Transition Program?
The UNSW Transition Program is an accelerated university preparation program which provides a pathway to study at UNSW Sydney.
With a choice of streams – Commerce, Actuarial Studies, Design & Architecture, Life Science, and Physical Science – you are preparing for future success at university.
Study at the beautiful UNSW Sydney campus in Kensington and enjoy access to world-class libraries, labs and classrooms as well as sporting and social clubs.

Our teaching style follows university practice with lectures and tutorials. Most tutorial classes have about 18 students, so you will receive the attention you need to succeed. You will also participate in class activities which help develop your presentation skills and give you greater confidence in speaking English.
Arts & Social Sciences, Design & Architecture, Life Science not available for intakes that progress into Term 2 at UNSW Sydney
Students wishing to undertake a Faculty of Science degree can typically undertake the Physical Science Stream instead of the Life Science Stream (for some programs Commerce or Commerce/Actuarial are the preferred Streams), and
Students wishing to undertake a Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture degree can typically undertake the Commerce stream instead of the Arts & Social Sciences or Design & Architecture Streams (for some programs Physical Science is the preferred Stream).
REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for entry, students must be at least 16 years of age at the time they commence a UNSW Foundation Studies program. This program is recommended for those with strong English language proficiency and a mature and independent approach to learning.
Foundation English Requirements:
Minimum IELTS Requirement – 6.0, Writing 5.5 (sub-scores 5.0);
TOEFL (paper based) – 537, TWE 4.5;
TOEFL (internet iBT) – 75, Writing 18;
Pearson Test of English – 50, Writing 46;
Cambridge Advanced English – 169, Writing 162 (sub-scores 154);
HKDSE English – 3, Writing 3
