COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Educators use a range of well-developed skills and knowledge using discretion and judgment when carrying out their work in the context of established policies and procedures. They may work independently or under the guidance of others, though in some contexts that guidance may not be on-site.
Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.
Pathways to Further Study
On completion of this qualification, you can gain entry into the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care to continue your education career.
The CHC30121 is entry requirement for the Diploma.
The Certificate III qualification provides for employment in the following roles:
Assistant Educator in long day care, childcare centres, occasional care
Assistant Educator in a Kindergarten or preschool program
Assistant Educator in occasional care
Family Day Care Educator
In Home Care Provider
Playgroup Supervisor
Nanny
Other education based employers may accept this qualification, such as working as a tutor, education support staff or as a teacher aide.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years of age or over
Successful completion of year 12 or equivalent is a prerequisite for all ACCCO courses
English Language Requirements
ACCCO accepts the following English tests for standard entry into our qualifications:
IELTS: minimum score of 5.5, with no subscore less than 5.0
TOEFL: a minimum score of 527
Internet-based (IBT) TOEFL: a score of 46 (no sub-score less than 35)
Pearson Test of English (Academic): an overall score of 42
Cambridge English Advanced level: a minimum score of 162
