COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community-based environments.
Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.
Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.
Pathways
Certificate IV in Ageing Support course is suitable for those who working in, or who have studied in, Aged Care sector and those who have experience in care or community services. This qualification is primarily intended to work in a residential facility or in a home within defined organisational guidelines and service plans.

REQUIREMENTS
To enter CHC43015 – Certificate IV in Ageing Support, candidates should have a year 11 school certificate, its equivalent or maturity and appropriate life experience. It is recommended that candidates have relevant experience to indicate likely success at this level of qualification in a job role involving:
The self-directed application of knowledge with substantial depth in some areas
The exercise of independent judgement and decision-making
The application of relevant technical and other skills.
