COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a range of community settings and peoples’ homes, who provide support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work according to and may contribute to an individualised plan, and work without direct supervision. They may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

REQUIREMENTS
ACOS requires that all students:
Are over the age of 18
Demonstrate an interest in, knowledge of, and suitability for work in the aged care industry. This will be assessed during an interview conducted prior to enrolment.
Domestic Students to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Test.

This course is available to international students who are able to provide evidence that they:
meet one of the following English proficiency requirements:
a valid IELTS score of 5.5 with no score below 5.0 in any band, or equivalent.
evidence of successful completion of at least five [5] years [full time equivalent] study taught and assessed in English.
completed an Australian Certificate III qualification.
