Advance your cookery career and gain the specialised skills and knowledge required to join the kitchen as a chef or move on with further study.
This qualification reflects the role of chefs and cooks who have a supervisory or team leading role in the kitchen. They operate independently or with limited guidance from others and use discretion to solve non-routine problems.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in organisations like restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafes and coffee shops, or to run a small business in these sectors.
The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Study Mode:
The mode of delivery for this course is identified as: blended, combining face to face classroom / kitchen, online training and assessment, industry placement, and completion of logbook. The course will be delivered 2 days per week, face-to-face, in a classroom and simulated work environment; 6 hours per week, online learning.
REQUIREMENTS
The following local entry requirements apply to ensure applicants are able to fully engage in the course and have the required learning capacity to meeting the course requirements. Learners must:
– be aged 18 years or over
– have completed Year 10 of Senior High School (or equivalent)
– be able to commit to the course attendance requirements
For international students the learners must also:
– hold English language proficiency of IELTS level 5.5 or equivalent
