COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification describes the skills and knowledge for supervisory job roles in the horticulture industry.
Individuals with this qualification perform tasks involving technical skills and supervisory skills to operate, monitor and improve performance of horticultural systems and projects, and may supervise staff.
This qualification applies to individuals with existing horticulture industry experience and technical skills and knowledge gained through training or employment specifically in the horticulture industry.
Work must comply with health and safety and environmental regulations and legislation that apply to the workplace.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES & EDUCATION PATHWAYS
After achieving this qualification candidates may undertake an AQF level 4 qualification within the AHC Package, or other Training Packages.
Alternatively, students will be able to access appropriate employment.
When successfully completed students can apply for jobs within the business industry which may include and of the following high level, specialised qualification can lead to in-demand roles such as:
Landscape manager/designer
Nursery manager
Botanic gardener
Senior horticulturalist
REQUIREMENTS
There are no training package entry requirements associated with this qualification however the following entry requirements apply.
Students must be 18 years of age at the time of enrolment
IELTS score 5.5 overall (with no band less than 5.0) or equivalent Pearson Test of English (PTE)
Year 12 or equivalent of Australian HSC.
