This qualification reflects the role of workers who provide services to clients in relation to mental health issues. You will learn how to support people with mental health issues, explore trauma informed practice, liaise with other agencies involved in the patient-care approach, empower people through the recovery model and communicate effectively with clients and other services.
This qualification covers workers who provide a range of services focusing on:
- Rehabilitation and support for people affected by mental illness and psychiatric disability.
- Implementing community-based activities focusing on mental health, mental illness and psychiatric disability, and
- Mental health promotion work.

AHSI’s Certificate IV in Mental Health program can lead to Diploma of Mental Health and further Bachelor programs with Griffith University.
REQUIREMENTS
This qualification covers workers who provide a range of services focusing on:
- Students must be 18 years or above
- Complete a Pre-Enrolment Review prior to enrolment
- Rehabilitation and support for people affected by mental illness and psychiatric disability. Implementing community-based activities focusing on mental health, mental illness and psychiatric disability, and Mental health promotion work.
- Proficient in English International Students require either an
- IELTS level of 5.5 or above with no band under 5.0 or
- TOEFL 46 (internet-based) or
- Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) 42 or
- Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) score of 162 or
- OET score of B for each test component
