COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification will provide you with the basic skills needed to assist in caring for the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of infants and young children in various care settings.
You will learn how to interact and foster the development of the children while working within legal requirements and ensuring the children’s health and safety are not at risk. As part of this qualification, you will undertake a supervised work placement (minimum of 120 hours) where you will be able to apply the skills and knowledge you have learned.
Be a part of a child’s growth and development and help them learn in an environment that is engaging and supporting with a qualification in children’s services. You will work closely with children aged 0-12 years from different backgrounds and cultures and provide care and support for them in various child care situations.
You will need
Positive attitude, caring nature, good work ethic and an interest to work with a team within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standards.
Before undertaking work placement, students will be assisted to obtain Working With Children Check.

The units of competency are assessed using any of the following methods:

After Successful Completion of
Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, students can pursue the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
Units of Competencies
There are 18 units in total – 15 core units plus 3 elective units must be completed for this qualification.
REQUIREMENTS
Completion of Year 10 or equivalent
Overseas student must have a minimum overall band of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.
