COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Graduate Certificate in Information Technology provides students with a solid grounding in the fundamental theories and applications of Information Technology, including computational mathematics, programming, operating systems, databases, and software project management. It not only allows those with a related degree (not necessarily an IT degree) to undertake a specialised sequence of units to upskill or refresh their professional IT knowledge, but it also serves as an excellent retraining opportunity for a student is a professional and aims to move into a new IT career.
By completing this course, students will acquire essential knowledge and skills in Information Technology, thereby creating a solid base to serve as a springboard their progression through the IT industry. Upon completion, students may choose to further progress to higher-level courses such as the Graduate Diploma of Information Technology and the Master of Information Technology.
To qualify for the award of the Graduate Certificate in Information Technology, a candidate shall: Complete 2 core units and 2 elective units with accrued an aggregate of at least 24 credit points.

REQUIREMENTS
- An approved three-year undergraduate degree equivalent from an approved university or other educational institution; or
- Completion of AQF Level 7 or above level study in Australia;
- Other qualifications with the combination of education and work experience will be considered case by case.
- This course not only allows those with a related degree (not necessary to be an IT degree) to undertake a specialised sequence of units to upskill or refresh their professional IT knowledge, but also serves as an excellent retraining opportunity if a student is a professional aiming to move into a new IT career. Students with a Bachelor degree are eligible to apply for this degree.
English language proficiency
- IELTS Academic – A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each subtest; or
- PTE Academic – A minimum result of 56 overall and a minimum result of 46 in each subtest; or
- TOEFL IBT score – a minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 19 in Writing, 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking; or
- TOEFL PBT score – A minimum result of 565 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing
