COURSE DESCRIPTION

The 11150NAT Diploma of Yoga Teaching is designed to prepare individuals to function as professional yoga teachers who are able to apply yoga therapeutically. It reflects the role and skills needed to teach yoga and meditation at a more specialised level in a group setting, one-on-one situation, or to individuals with specific needs at various stages of life.

Students are enabled to build on their learned skills and develop abilities in advanced yogic consultation techniques by applying foundational principles of therapeutic yoga, yogic lifestyle, and yoga philosophy. They also learn how to undertake research in order to provide a professional service within their scope of practice and how to deal with students who have special needs and chronic conditions. Students will further develop their skills in yoga teaching, sequencing and yoga lifestyle program design for various individual client needs that address physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

The Diploma course enables graduates to work effectively with clients using yoga-based therapeutic tools with the aim of enhancing their health and wellbeing and to work alongside other industry professionals when needed.

REQUIREMENTS

Be at least 18 years of age,
Provide evidence of completing at least the equivalent of Australian Year 12,

ALG English Proficiency Requirements:

IELTS score: 6.0 (with no individual band under 5.5); Cambridge English CAE: 169; TOEFL Internet Based: 60; Occupational English Test (OET): B; PTE Academic: 50
