COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is for students who would like to take the next step in their Early Childhood Education career. This nationally recognised qualification is the perfect opportunity to build on the existing skills and knowledge acquired in Certificate III.
In this course, students will learn to implement an approved learning framework, and support children’s well-being, learning and development.
You will develop extensive skills and understanding of pedagogical practices and in-depth knowledge to design and implement an approved curriculum that meets the requirements of an approved learning framework and for maintaining compliance in other areas of service operations.
Furthermore, you will gain the confidence to lead a team working in long daycare centres, family daycare, pre-schools or kindergartens.
Course Outcomes
The program outcomes for this course are:
Workers qualified at a Diploma level are primarily employed child care educators in an Early Learning Centre or Occasional Day centres in a room leader or management role. They could also be employed as a Nanny.
Preparation for further study and vocational skills with development of study and research skills, language and literacy skills, communication skills, time management, planning and managing projects, interpersonal skills and the development of techniques.
A study pathway to a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and/or a Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching.

REQUIREMENTS
Be at least 18 years of age,
Provide evidence of completing at least the equivalent of Australian Year 12,
ALG English Proficiency Requirements:
IELTS score: 6.0 (with no individual band under 5.5); Cambridge English CAE: 169; TOEFL Internet Based: 60; Occupational English Test (OET): B; PTE Academic: 50
