COURSE DESCRIPTION
If your passion lies with both science and the law, this combined degree allows you to pursue both fields and gain a unique qualification enabling you to stand out in the workforce.
Uncover the mysteries of how the body works, what happens when it goes wrong – and why – in biomedical science and develop a strong understanding of the molecular, cellular, anatomical, and physiological processes that occur. In law, explore the areas of criminal law, property, climate law, corporate law and more, gaining a legal qualification for the purposes of admission to legal practice in Australia. You may also have the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience through internships and work placements.
You will graduate with career-ready experiences, strong foundational knowledge, and broader employment opportunities from completing two degrees in just four years.
The Bond University Bachelor of Biomedical Science/Bachelor of Laws program will equip you with foundational skills in the highly respected areas of science and law. The Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Pre-Health Professional Major) provides you with the ideal undergraduate foundation for a career in the health sciences. The program develops your knowledge in the molecular, cellular, anatomical and physiological processes of the human body and prepares you for graduate entry programs such as medicine and the allied health professions. The Bachelor of Laws prepares students for a career as a legal professional, both within Australia and overseas. It provides students with a thorough grounding in essential areas of substantive law and access to a wide choice of law elective subjects, including the option of completing a specialisation. An integrated skills and professionalism program is embedded in the degree and focuses on core legal skills essential to the practice of law. The Bachelor of Laws provides an engaging learning experience that challenges students academically and prepares them practically for a legal career.
Where will your degree take you?
The combined Bachelor of Biomedical Science/Bachelor of Laws degree provides you with the professional outcomes and opportunities of both individual degrees.
Completing this combined program will provide opportunities for a range of careers in private, government and not for profit sectors.
Graduates may seek to practise law whilst utilising a foundational understanding of the health and medical sciences or employ their understanding of science to work in biomedical industries and law with a background in compliance, regulation, and intellectual property.
