COURSE DESCRIPTION

Occupation is the activities that people need to do, choose to do, and have to do to function as a human being. Through Bond’s Graduate Diploma in Occupation and Health you will develop a critical understanding of common health conditions and the impact of physical and mental disabilities, as well as devising tailored solutions in terms of risk prevention, injury management, rehabilitation, and ongoing care through the core curriculum. You will develop specialist knowledge, skills and attitudes relating to occupation and health.

If you are looking to enter a postgraduate medical program or planning to re-enter the workforce and require your qualifications to be updated, then this program is for you. Graduates may also choose to undertake the Master of Occupational Therapy receiving full credit for subjects studied in the Graduate Diploma of Occupation and Health.

This diploma program is designed to build on undergraduate studies in health and related sciences to develop specialist knowledge, skills, and attitudes relating to occupation and health. For entry students, this program is useful for graduates with ambitions to enter post-graduate medical programs, or for those with existing occupational therapy qualifications requiring professional updates before applying for Australian qualification recognition or re-entering the workforce. These studies also prepare graduates to work in rehabilitation, aged care, and disability services in roles such as allied health assistant, aged care assistant, or disability support worker.

Where will your degree take you?

The roll-out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Australia, has increased the demand for trained personnel in recent years while globally, the focus on helping people to stay at home longer (‘ageing in place’) continues to drive demand for professionally qualified employees.

Graduates will be prepared to work across a wide range of areas including from health, rehabilitation and care to mental health, education and workplace health and safety.
