COURSE DESCRIPTION
The program covers advertising, public relations, social media, human communication theory, relational communication, organisational communication and leadership, and research methods and data visualisation.
You will experience opportunities to apply your knowledge to real projects. You will choose and conduct a research project, and guided by academic and industry professionals, complete a 20-week professional portfolio capstone subject.
Bond’s Master of Communication (Professional) will take your skills to the next level, bring you up-to-date on the risks and opportunities of new and emerging media, and future-proof your career with the ability to adapt to work situations that have yet to be imagined.
The Master of Communication (Professional) is designed for international students who would like to develop or enhance their expertise in the rapidly expanding field of professional communication. As a student in the program, you will gain applied skills and knowledge in advertising, public relations, social media, human communication theory, relational communication, organisational communication and leadership, and communication research. You will also conduct a research project of your own choosing and engage in a 20-week professional portfolio capstone of either 1) a work-integrated learning opportunity to participate in a field project and produce a report and showcase portfolio (eligibility criteria applies), or 2) undertake a supervised professional portfolio project. Throughout the program, you will develop theoretical knowledge and practical skills in professional communication to equip you for roles in the fields of advertising, public relations, social media, research, management and leadership, and internal communication in private, public, and non-profit organisations.
What can you do with your degree?
All business, government, and not-for-profit organisations require the expertise of a communication professional to navigate the many complex channels that exist, both traditional and emerging.
The Master of Communication (Professional) program will equip students with the skills to focus on interpersonal and group interactions in the workplace; communication challenges posed by an increasingly diverse and virtual workforce; planning for internal and external communication in private, public, and non-profit organisations; media strategies; and management of risks, among other topics.
Program learning outcomes
Program Learning Outcomes provide a broad and measurable set of standards that incorporate a range of knowledge, skills and abilities that will be achieved on completion of the program. These outcomes will help you determine whether this program aligns with your professional pathway, career and learning goals.
