COURSE DESCRIPTION
Project innovation is the next big thing for the project management discipline.
As we move to a management-by-project gig economy, projects and programs have become increasingly complex. Project managers are working in multi-layered business environments, with interdisciplinary, often isolated team members. In a world where everything can – and does – alter overnight, disruption and change management have become the norm.
Project Innovation takes the management process to the next level, embracing innovative thinking and adaptable practices that can respond quickly to change and opportunities. It offers a whole new way of thinking – one that is not constrained by conventional ideologies and the fear of failure. It looks at alternative solutions, the freedom to experiment and design thinking. It recognises that success is measured, not just in the delivery of projects but in good design and end-user delight.
In Bond’s Master of Project Innovation, you will be inspired by the creative and entrepreneurial processes that blend social, political, and environmental criteria to create true value for project stakeholders.
The dynamic learning experience delivers the best of the Faculty of Society and Design’s project management teachings with Bond Business School’s expertise in entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Master of Project Innovation explores key areas emerging in job descriptions for project managers, drawn from product managers, designer thinkers, change agents, Agile coaches, business analysts and entrepreneurs. This program comprises six foundational subject areas, and the ability to tailor learning through four elective subject choices. At the end of the program, students complete a significant research project to consolidate their learning.
What can you do with your degree?
Innovation is being promised. Autonomous vehicles, cures for the deadliest diseases, and smart architecture. But where do these innovations come from? Innovative products and services are delivered through projects. In today’s uncertain economic environment, the Master of Project Innovation equips graduates with the knowledge and skills to implement a ‘management by projects’ approach, which is in high-demand in our world today. This approach includes a set of activities such as planning, decision making, leadership and organisation all which are intentionally used to achieve efficient and effective project objectives. Innovation in project management facilitates an agile response to opportunities, freedom to experiment, exploration of alternative solutions, and a new approach that is not constrained by conventional ideologies or the fear of failure.
Graduate with digital badges
Digital badges are growing in popularity for those already in the workforce and looking to up-skill or extend upon and formalise their skills, qualifications and experience. They are awarded to graduates of Project Innovation programs who have achieved at least a credit in a designated pair of core subjects.
Each digital badge represents an emerging career specialisation (i.e. professional role) related to the wider project management discipline. Digital badges include design thinking, product manager, change-agent, agile coach, business analyst and entrepreneur.
Program learning outcomes
Program Learning Outcomes provide a broad and measurable set of standards that incorporate a range of knowledge, skills and abilities that will be achieved on completion of the program. These outcomes will help you determine whether this program aligns with your professional pathway, career and learning goals.
