COURSE DESCRIPTION
Our design course aims to develop you to be adaptable and resilient to a rapidly evolving design industry.
This course will provide you with digital skills, business skills and design knowledge. You’ll explore emerging technologies whilst being equipped with the skills to be resilient to the challenges of the global design industry. You will undertake immersive industry practices through collaborative projects and you’ll study a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) subject in the final year, which will provide further opportunities to apply and develop your skills and industry awareness.
You will:
develop skills in design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
learn to use 3D software to design
develop communication skills by responding to complex design briefs, undertaking design projects, implementing design solutions and managing them to completion
learn sophisticated print and digital media skills, including advertising and promotion, art direction, branding, corporate identity, instructional design, typography, packaging, signage, web design and sustainable practice
undertake a workplace internship

On completion of the award, students will be able to:
competently demonstrate a broad understanding of the design industry, and use professional skills and knowledge to solve complex design problems

Pathways & Accreditation
Once you have successfully completed this course, you can apply for post graduate study at a university.
This course is accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and the qualification is aligned with the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level 7 and Box Hill Institute Graduate Attributes.
REQUIREMENTS
International students must have successfully completed the Diploma of Graphic Design or equivalent, or demonstrate relevant industry experience. A folio review and interview may be requested.

Certificate IV in Design with a pathway into the Diploma of Graphic Design,
Diploma of Graphic Design with a pathway into Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design
Direct entry is available for suitable applicants who can demonstrate relevant industry experience.
PLEASE NOTE: Box Hill Institute only accept enrolments from international students who are 18 years of age or above at the time of course commencement.
IELTS Overall 6.0 (Academic) With No Band Less Than 5.5; TOEFL IBT Overall Score 64, With Each Section No Less Than 12 For Listening, 13 For Reading, 21 For Writing, 18 For Speaking; PTE Academic English Overall 50 No Communicative Skills Less Than 42; Cambridge English Advanced (CAE): 169-175; Occupational English Test (OET): Minimum Score Of C In Each Of The Four Components.
