CIM Master of Information & Communications Technology provides a combination of leading-edge theory and technical knowledge for a successful career as an ICT professional in Australia and around the world. This program provides students with an enhanced understanding of the business context and the technical developments shaping contemporary information and communications technology (ICT) and equips them to meet the challenges of working in the ICT industry. The graduates of MICT program will have developed and specialised skills, a solid understanding of the issues, concepts and practices in ICT and management skills that will enable them to be an innovative and solution-focused ICT professional. The Master of Information & Communications Technology is a useful pathway to a technical career, providing students with the technical proficiency and theoretical base to keep pace with rapid changes in technology and business.
CIM Master of Information & Communications Technology graduate will be able to:
Critically analyse complex work environments, assess alternate information systems solutions, and evaluate outcomes;
Identify and resolve ethical issues related to ICT and recommend best practices for the management of sustainable organisations;
Research with curiosity and capacity, integrate and apply key theories and principles in ICT and apply and effectively communicate expert judgement in information technology, systems design and project planning;
Apply advanced theoretical and technical knowledge and innovative strategies to solve complex technological problems in a wide range of business contexts;
As an individual and team member, demonstrate creativity in developing information systems, consisting of applications and associated information, to help to automate and streamline business processes;
Demonstrate a critical understanding of complex issues related with ICT business and professional practices.
The Master of Information & Communications Technology graduates will be capable of approaching complex problems with a level of confidence, able to manage IT projects effectively and professionally, and have the technical expertise required to take on positions in electronic commerce, information systems, systems development, technology management, health informatics or business systems and management. REQUIREMENTS
Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree from an Australian higher education institution or overseas equivalent. Students enrolling into graduate programs, particularly in ICT programs, require a bachelor’s degree from an Australian higher education institution or overseas equivalent in a discipline containing mathematics up to year two level.
Successful completion of a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma from an Australian institution or overseas equivalent.
Evidence of a minimum of two years relevant industry experience at managerial level.
Successful completion of an approved Graduate Qualifying Program from an Australian higher education institution or overseas equivalent.
English language requirement
IELTS 6.5 (or better) (no component lower than 6.0)
TOEFL (internet-based) Minimum overall score of 80
Pearson (PTE Academic) Minimum overall score of 58 with no band less than 50
Overall Cambridge English Scale score of 176 from C1 Advanced. No less than 169 in any paper.
