COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.
They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.
Pathways
While there are no entry requirements defined in the training package, Clinton Institute requires the following criteria to be met.
The BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management will provide a pathway to work in the private and public sectors of business, and small and large enterprises to lead, supervise and manage people and resources in addressing both systematic and unpredictable situations. Possible job titles include:
- • Team Leader
- • Department Manager
- • HR Manager
Students who complete this course may wish to continue their training by undertaking specialist Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications in the Business Services or other Training Packages, or continue into Higher Education such as a Graduate Diplomas or Bachelor’s Degrees in Business, Human Resources, Marketing, and Management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must be minimum 18 years of age at the time of commencement >
- • Successful completion of Year 12 in Australia, or an equivalent overseas qualification
- • Successful completion of Clinton Institute’s Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment
- • In addition, Applicants should have basic computer and MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and have access to a personal computer
Other:
- Successful completion of Cert IV or higher qualification within the business or another training package, or relevant business experience.
English Language/Literacy/Numeracy requirements:
All international students entering this qualification must have a minimum English Language proficiency level of one of the below:
- • IELTS band score of 5.5 (Academic or general version) or equivalent internationally recognised exam result in line with DIAC regulations or
- • IELTS band score of 5.0 (Academic or general version) then Satisfactory completion of ELICOS or ESL up to 20 weeks at upper intermediate level or
OR be able to provide any of the following evidence of English Language competence
- that they were educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country
- that they have successfully completed at least 6 months of Certificate IV level course or above in an Australian RTO
