COURSE DESCRIPTION

Increase your intercultural skills and awareness of global issues, advancing your current career or building the foundation to a new career.

Do you enjoy contemplating the big questions of our time, such as balancing economic growth with environmental protection or global connection with national identity? With skills in global engagement, you could turn your passion into a career that makes a lasting difference.

In this course you’ll gain a foundational understanding of how power, culture, history, identity and sustainability intersect with societies across Asia, Africa and beyond. You’ll explore current global issues such as migrant and refugee flows, popular culture and its global reach, and regional tensions and opportunities, helping you engage with different cultural perspectives.

Our problem-based learning approach will enrich your interpersonal and decision-making skills. You’ll explore real-world issues, such as media representations of difference, regional governments’ use of soft power, sustainable solutions to the climate crisis, and the causes of international tensions and possibilities for cooperation. You’ll apply your skills to create considered policy recommendations to improve the lives of others.

Whether you’re seeking to advance your current career or embark on a new path, this course offers a rewarding and highly sought-after skillset.
