COURSE DESCRIPTION

In this course you will examine project management and its processes, including history, definitions, attributes, body of knowledge, objectives and success. You’ll explore the characteristics and activities of the project life cycle, along with the functions of planning, organisation and control. You’ll consider cost and value management processes within a project environment, including methods and techniques of estimating, budgeting and controlling. Time management is also a focus of this course, covering time programming and scheduling, line of balance, time estimating, constraints, resources, control monitoring, analysis and reporting.

Your studies will be supported by an exploration of organisational development and the design of organisational structures, including perceptions, personality, motivation, leadership, group processes, performance appraisal, conflict and work redesign.

The structure of this course varies depending on which semester you commence your studies in. The course offers flexibility as units are delivered through evening classes and online.

Upon successful completion of the graduate certificate, you may transfer to the graduate diploma and then subsequently enrol in the master degree.

This course is accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the Global Accreditation Center for Project Management Education Programs (GAC), and is endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM).

Describe and apply the principles, concepts, tools, techniques and processes of project management

REQUIREMENTS

A recognized bachelor degree or equivalent OR

Relevant extensive work experience. Applications via this pathway are considered on an individual basis.

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) – Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking – 6.0; Overall band score 6.5; TOEFL Score: 79 (overall); Reading 13; Listening 13; Speaking 18; Writing 21; Pearson Test of English – Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking – 50; Overall band score 58; TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and PBT (Paper Based Test) – 570 and 4.5 in TWE; C1 Advanced Formerly known as Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) 176 with 169 in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. C2 Proficiency Formerly known as Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) 190 with 176 in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.
