COURSE DESCRIPTION
Make your mark behind the scenes in the dynamic sport industry through Deakin’s Bachelor of Business (Sport Management). Develop the skills required to manage sport organisations, coordinate sporting competitions and major events, and work in community-based sporting programs. Learn how to manage the business side of sport with specialised training in sport marketing, finance, management and law, so you can thrive in increasingly professionalised sporting organisations. You can also expand on your business expertise by completing a complementary business major.
You will gain access to unique opportunities with leading clubs and organisations. Our partnerships with the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC), Australian Football League (AFL), Swimming Australia, Deakin Melbourne Boomers, Netball Victoria, and many more, will open the door to exciting placement experiences that connect you with the best athletes, managers and administrators in sport.
Want to help shape the future of your favourite sports?
Develop the skills to make a real impact through hands-on experience. You’ll participate in industry placements, with at least 100 hours in a host sporting organisation, so you can apply your knowledge in a practical environment.
Learn from teachers who are leaders in their field. You will benefit from their knowledge and strategies, while growing your professional networks through their vast connections.
With this qualification, you will be well equipped to work with organisations that support sport, such as sport promoters and player agents, sporting goods manufacturers and retailers and facility management.
