COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification has been structured with electives for specific work functions in various environments such as environmental services, food services, and patient transport in a health services environment. This qualification will give you the knowledge and understanding of work health and safety, infection control, basic medical terminology, and to provide support with patient/client transport, meal services and environmental services.

Occupational titles include:

Health services assistant
Patient service attendant
Patient transport officer
Food distribution officer
Cleaning services attendant

PATHWAYS FROM THE QUALIFICATION

While ETEA may not offer all the qualifications indicated within the pathway, the organisation advises relevant progression that may be attained such as:
HLT37315 – Certificate III in Health Administration
or upskill by attaining:
HLT43021 – Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
HLT41120 – Certificate IV in Health Care
HLT47515 – Certificate IV in Operating Theatre Technical Support
HLT54121 – Diploma of Nursing

EMPLOYMENT OR OCCUPATIONAL PATHWAY

The students can also enrol in the Operating Theatre Technician work Skill set.
