COURSE DESCRIPTION
Carpentry is a versatile trade qualification that prepares students for a career in the construction industry. In this course you will work with trade tools and learn the skills to build, install, finish and repair structures and fixtures for domestic and commercial developments. You will learn to interpret plans, calculate pitches and slopes, and understand the safety requirements of building sites. Our Trade Instructors have current experience in the construction industry and bring together the theory and the practical requirements of the course, to help you develop skills and gain an understanding of what is needed to succeed. Once qualified, you will be known on-site as a Carpenter or Chippy.
This is a trade qualification for carpenters in residential and commercial workplaces. It includes
setting out, manufacturing, constructing, assembling, installing, and repairing products made
using timber and non-timber materials. Completion of this carpentry qualification gives you the
opportunity to become a recognised tradesperson.
In this course, you’ll learn how to construct, install, finish and repair structures and fixtures for
residential, commercial, and industrial developments. You will work with a range of tools,
equipment, and materials to construct frames for walls and ceilings, construct pitched and
advanced roofs and eaves, and erect and dismantle formwork for footings and slabs on the ground.
This course, delivered by our highly experienced and passionate trainers, will see you graduate
with the skills that will allow you to become a qualified carpenter.

REQUIREMENTS
English language requirements: IELTS 4.5 or equivalent or pass EET LLN test or complete 10 weeks General English Intermediate; Educational requirements: Completion of Year 10 or equivalent
