COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed for engineers and professionals who are interested in working within the developing multi-billion dollars Hydrogen Industry. It will benefit people who are interested in understanding how hydrogen is produced, stored, and utilized for energy applications. It is also designed for students who are interested in this exciting industry and want to understand how we can create a sustainable future with hydrogen technologies.

Course Details

The course is composed of 12 modules, covering the fundamental principles and concepts used in process design and plant design.

This course provides the fundamentals of hydrogen energy and hydrogen energy storage as fuel cell and will also provide an understanding of the innovative technologies being implemented in hydrogen industry in the recent times. Hydrogen production methods are presented, with a specific attention to electrolysis as a means for producing hydrogen from renewable energies. Hydrogen storage methods are described and the process of electrical energy generation from hydrogen by using fuel cell technology is explained.

During this course, we will discuss in detail about hydrogen economy and future trends in addition to having a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges with hydrogen and will develop an understanding of the properties and safety aspects of hydrogen, including its application to hydrogen production plants and refuelling stations.

To obtain a certificate of completion for EIT’s Professional Certificate of Competency course, students must achieve a 65% attendance rate at the live, online fortnightly webinar. Detailed summaries or notes can be submitted in lieu of attendance. In addition, students must obtain a mark of 60% in the set assignments which could take the form of written assignments and practical assignments. Students must also obtain a mark of 100% in quizzes. If a student does not achieve the required score, they will be given an opportunity to resubmit the assignment to obtain the required score.

REQUIREMENTS

For entry into most EIT degree programs, you need to have completed a minimum level of education similar to successful completion of Australian Year 12 with good grades.
