This combined degree takes all the advantages of being an in-demand environmental engineer and combines it with the knowledge needed to become an accredited civil engineer.
You will not only be able to develop practical solutions that will protect and improve the quality of our environment but also create innovative infrastructure design and construction solutions across the four main civil engineering themes of structures, transport, water and geomechanics; This combined degree takes all the advantages of being an in-demand environmental engineer and combines it with the knowledge needed to become an accredited civil engineer.
You will not only be able to develop practical solutions that will protect and improve the quality of our environment but also create innovative infrastructure design and construction solutions across the four main civil engineering themes of structures, transport, water and geomechanics.
Your career
With the problems faced by the environment becoming more critical, environmental engineers are in very high demand, combined with a civil engineering degree opportunities exist across a wide range of organisations and government, from mining and resources through to local, state and federal government.

Professional recognition/accreditation
All our Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering degrees are accredited by Engineers Australia at the level of professional engineer. Professional engineering courses accredited by Engineers Australia are recognised internationally under the Washington Accord. Graduates meet the academic requirements for attaining chartered professional engineering status.
REQUIREMENTS
Flinders University recognises international secondary schooling for direct entry to undergraduate programs.
SACE stage two specialist mathematics or mathematical methods or equivalent. Knowledge of SACE stage two physics or equivalent is assumed.
English language requirements
- IELTS (Academic): 6.0 Overall with 6.0 Speaking, 6.0 Writing;
- TOEFL iBT: 72 Overall with 18 Speaking, 21 Writing;
- Pearson PTE Academic: 50 Overall with 50 Speaking, 50 Writing;
- Cambridge C1 Advanced: 169 Overall with 169 Writing, 169 Speaking;
- Occupational English Test (OET): 300 Speaking, 300 Writing; Duolingo (Up to and including Semester 2, 2024): Overall 95-100
