Gain the foundations for further study in engineering or for a career in an engineering-related field. The degree offers specialisations in biomedical engineering, civil engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, and software engineering.
What you will study
First year
A typical first year may include:
- core topics in areas such as electronics, professional skills, engineering physics and materials, engineering mechanics, mathematics, mathematics fundamentals, and physics for the modern world
- option topics based on your choice of specialisation.
Second year
A typical second year may include:
- a broad range of topics in your choice of specialisation: biomedical, civil, electrical and electronic, mechanical, or software.
Third year
A typical third year may include:
- further topics in your specialisation
- elective topics
- an engineering project or industry practicum.
Your career
Graduates obtain employment in sectors such as telecommunications, robotics, automotive electronics, smart instrumentation, security and defence.

REQUIREMENTS
Flinders University recognises international secondary schooling for direct entry to undergraduate programs.

- TOEFL iBT: 72 Overall with 18 Speaking, 21 Writing;
- Pearson PTE Academic: 50 Overall with 50 Speaking, 50 Writing;
- Cambridge C1 Advanced: 169 Overall with 169 Writing, 169 Speaking;
- Occupational English Test (OET): 300 Speaking, 300 Writing; Duolingo (Up to and including Semester 2, 2024): Overall 95-100
