If you are a graduate with a previous degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and are looking to upgrade and extend your knowledge and skills in this high demand area, the Mechanical Engineering postgraduate program at Flinders provides you with the perfect study plan. Ranging from the Graduate Diploma, and Master of Engineering Science to this Master of Engineering, these courses offer a unique selection of advanced topics in various branches of Mechanical Engineering such as Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Design and Manufacturing, Materials, and Control. The courses also integrate with the strong research and development programs in the College of Science and Engineering. REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering or closely related field; or hold the Graduate Diploma in Engineering Science (Mechanical stream) from Flinders University or have completed a minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent in the Master of Engineering Science (Mechanical) from Flinders University or equivalent qualification.
A knowledge of mathematics (equivalent to second year university mathematics including Fourier and Laplace Transforms) and a knowledge of Materials and Dynamics is assumed.
English language requirements
IELTS (Academic): 6.0 Overall with 6.0 Speaking, 6.0 Writing; TOEFL iBT: 72 Total score with 18 Speaking, 21 Writing; Pearson PTE Academic: 50 Overall with 50 Speaking, 50 Writing; Cambridge C1 Advanced: 169 Overall with 169 Speaking, 169 Writing; Occupational English Test (OET): 300 Speaking, 300 Writing, 300 Reading, 300 Listening; Duolingo (Up to and including Semester 2, 2024): Overall 95-100
