COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course targets students who want to pursue an exciting career as a commercial pilot. Students will gain the skills & knowledge required to be successful in their careers.

Course inclusion

The diploma package includes the following items listed below:

  • 87 Hours Dual Flying
  • 100 Hours Solo Flying
  • 16.8 Hours Dual Simulator Training
  • 500+ Hours Face-to-Face Teaching
  • Textbooks, uniforms & learning materials
  • Internal, Theoretical Exams & Flight Tests
  • Twenty-nine Units of Competency

Those with previous experience, a tailor course can be provided.

Articulation pathway

Bachelor’s Degree – Fundamental Experience of Griffith University and the practice of Flylink Aviation College

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Be minimum of 18 years of age;
  2. Has academic qualification equivalent to (or above) that of Senior High School graduation and/or AQF Level 4 under the Australian Qualification Framework; and
  3. Be eligible for a CASA Flight Crew Class I Aviation Medical Certificate;
  4. Be Eligible for a CASA Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC);
  5. Satisfy one of the following three pathways to demonstrate English Proficiency:

English Language Test Pathway

Completed at least 1 of the following general English proficiency tests with the minimum grade specified for the test:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) General or academic training module overall grade of 6.0, with no individual grade in a paper lower than 5.5; or
Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC-Secure Program Public Testing Centre) with grades not less than the following:
780 for overall;
350 for listening;
300 for reading;
160 for speaking;
140 for writing; or
Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-based test (TOEFL IBT) with a grade of not less than 71; or
Test of English as a Foreign Language computer-based test (TOEFL CBT) with a Grade of not less than 197; or
Test of English as a Foreign Language paper-based test (TOEFL PB) with a grade of not less than 530; or
Hold current ICAO AELP Level 4, 5 or 6;

EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION

FlyLink Aviation College, established in 2017, is one of the first, CASA Flight Training Organisations within Australia to have setup a 24-hour student accessible study/training area away from an aerodrome and that is close to student accommodation. Its aircraft operation dispatch centre is located at Archerfield Aerodrome, Brisbane’s secondary airport and Queensland’s major centre for general aviation activities. It is a secured, ATC controlled Aerodrome, equipped with four runways and instrument arrival procedures. The college deploys a fleet of diamond aircraft for the majority of the practical flight training it offers. International students can choose from accredited courses.
