COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification provides a trade outcome in painting and decorating for residential and commercial construction work.

Occupational titles may include:

Painter and Decorator.

Licensing, legislative and regulatory or certification requirements for painting and decorating work differ between States and Territories. Please consult with the relevant regulatory authority.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.

Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.

Pathway

Once students have successfully completed CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating, they can apply for various roles across management positions that have supervisory performance accountabilities. The further study pathways available to students who undertake this qualification include:

1.CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building),
2.CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building), or
3.Range of Certificate IV or Diploma level qualifications with the CPC Training Package.

Course Structure:

A total of 29 Units (26 Core and 3 electives) must be completed and deemed competent to achieve the qualification CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating. Participants who achieve competency in any unit/s will receive a Statement of Attainment (provided USI is verified) for that unit/s without completing all 29 units in the qualification. Students completing all the required units of competency will attain full qualification.

REQUIREMENTS

There is no pre-requisites or specific entry requirement for this qualification. This course is available to all international students and GET Education Australia requires that students are able to provide evidence that they:

1.Have demonstrated an IELTS level at score of least 5.5 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old) or demonstration of successful completion of at least General English at Upper Intermediate or English for Academic Purposes Upper Intermediate level.
2.Have a suitable level of language, literacy and numeracy to complete course requirements with or without additional support that Get Education Australia is able to provide.
3.Must be a proficient user of advanced calculators.
4.Have successfully completed Australian year 12 or equivalent or must be of matured age with adequate LLN skills.
5.Are at least at age of 18 on the date of course commencement.
6.Please Note:It is highly recommended that student must have successfully completed ‘CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry’, prior commencing this course as this unit of competency is a pre-requisite to most of the units contained within the qualification.
7.All the students commencing this course are required to complete LLN test on the orientation day to assist Get Education Australia to identify student’s needs for additional support during their study with Get Education Australia.
