COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Diploma of Nursing is the recognised qualification to become an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2).
Enrolled Nurses work under the supervision of Registered Nurses as members of multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with medical and allied health staff. In this course, students will learn how to work with patients, clients, and their families and care for people during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
With a combination of on-campus training and practical placement, other key outcomes for students include learning to support people through their daily tasks, perform complex interventions, promote healthy living practices, and support the emotional and psychological needs of their patients.
Career Pathways
This course prepares you to work as an AHPRA registered Enrolled Nurse (Division 2). Students may find employment in the following areas:
Acute care hospitals
Residential aged care facilities
Community health centres
Medical practices
Further Study
After graduating, students might like to undertake further study in the HLT64115 Advanced Diploma of Nursing or a Bachelor of Nursing at university.
REQUIREMENTS
Be over the age of 18
Supply current:
National Police Check with no disclosable outcomes,
Working With Children’s Check,
Immunisation history (Immunisation and Health record completed one month before 1st placement as per the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Standardised Student Induction Protocol (SSIP)),
Fit-to-practice documentation before undertaking placement,
Statutory declaration of no disclosable outcomes if resided overseas for 12+ months since turning 18,
Evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination.
Have a willingness to undertake the NDIS Worker Screening Check if required by placement.
Register with APHRA within 2 weeks of course commencement.
Have the ability to work as a member of a team, a high level of communication skills, a desire to commit to the course, and time management skills.
Have a reasonable level of fitness and physical stamina with no major health issues that would impact the ability to perform nursing duties as required
Have the ability to complete practical placements in any part of regional Victoria or metropolitan Melbourne; as per Training Package requirements, this is 440 hours divided into four placements.
English Language Test Pathway
The student must provide evidence of English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 7.0 (Academic) with no individual band score less than 7.0
– OET with a minimum score of B in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing and speaking).
PTE Academic with a minimum overall score of 65 and a minimum score of 65 in each of the four communicative skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking).
TOEFL iBT with a minimum total score of 94 and the following minimum score in each section of the test 24 for listening, 24 for reading, 27 for writing, and 23 for speaking.

It encompasses four major campuses in the state of Victoria at Benalla, Seymour, Shepparton and Wangaratta. The institute offers courses in accounting, agriculture, animal studies, business, general education for adults, horticulture, engineering, equine studies, hospitality, sport, music, nursing, skill recognition, conservation, multimedia, viticulture, etc.
