Master of Applied Behaviour Analysis

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Master of Applied Behaviour Analysis provides students with comprehensive and flexible training in applied behaviour analysis. The principles of ABA underpin most evidence-based interventions and practices in the fields of education and disability and can be applied to any life situation in which the aim is to learn new skills, enhance individual or team performance, or to understand and reduce behaviours that challenge.

This degree program is relevant to students wishing to apply knowledge of these principles and practices to their current work (for example, teachers, early intervention workers, allied health professionals, managers, principals) as well as those who ultimately want to pursue accreditation as a behaviour practitioner.

ATTENDANCE INFORMATION

This Masters program is offered on full-time or part-time basis and is only available to International students studying in their home country or in Australia on a visa other than a student visa.

This Masters is offered on a full-time or part-time basis off-campus. Students must expect to complete a minimum of 15 hours per week of online work for each week for the 6-week intensive ABA courses that form the Verified Course Sequence including participation in weekly 2-hour online evening workshops. Workshop attendance, online analytics and task completion will be used to monitor engagement.

MY CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Students who complete the Master of Applied Behaviour Analysis will typically apply their knowledge and skills in one of three ways.

Students may use their training to enhance their existing professional capacity as teachers and allied health clinicians.

Students may apply their training to everyday life such as parents and caregivers raising children with developmental disabilities.

Successful completion of this Masters would fulfil two of the three requirements for sitting the external exam to become a Board Certified Behaviour Analysists (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA).
