COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification is structured incorporating a Full-Time training syllabus to bring you from the CASA Commercial Pilots License (CPL) to the completion of the Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating (MECIR), with highly desirable logbook experience on Aircraft preferred by employers worldwide.
Flight crew duties include applying technical and non-technical aviation skills and knowledge to a wide range of air transport operations, including passenger, charter and cargo operations.
Individuals working at this level will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy, judgement and defined responsibility in known or changing contexts and within broad but established parameters.
This qualification forms the requirements for the issue of a Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating to commercial pilots by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) as directed by Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR) Part 61
Flight crew licensing.

Possible career outcomes
Job roles vary across industry, however it is important to understand that when you graduate this qualification it is likely that you will have a total of 180 to 250 hours flying. Many employers require substantially more hours.
The completion of the Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating (MECIR) allows our graduates to enter the workforce or to continue on towards their Air Transport Pilots Licence (ATPL). There may be a requirement for additional training such as a type rating and other qualifications before you will become eligible for certain aviation
sectors. These include:

• Cargo Pilot
• Corporate Pilot
• Medevac pilot

REQUIREMENTS

Whilst there are no prerequisites according to the Training Packaging Rules, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority
(CASA) and ICAO state that learners should be able to pass the aviation English proficiency at level 4 and hold a Valid CASA Private Pilot License (PPL) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
The course qualifies commercial pilots to seek employment flying at night or into Instrument Meteorological
Conditions (IMC), in a multi-engine aircraft.
The school assesses each student to determine their suitability to the course on offer.
Learners also require;

  • Current Class 1 or 2 aviation medical
  • ASIC Security Clearance (this is required at the course start).

These courses are accredited by the Australian National Training Authority to deliver the Certificate IV in Transport & Distribution with a specialization in Aviation Flight Operations. These courses assist a student in obtaining both commercial as well as private pilot license.
