In a period when society and business have sought answers to unprecedented and rapidly escalating challenges, fundamental and applied research has provided answers. As a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous future evolves, research skills will be ever more crucial in enabling society and business to innovate in response to political, economic, societal, technological and ecological change. In this context, HELI is proud to offer its newly accredited Graduate Certificate in Research Methods. The Graduate Certificate of Research is specifically designed to develop the skills needed to design research in educational and professional settings in response to these challenging times. This course is offered face-to-face at HELI’s Melbourne Campus (for all International Students).
Course Learning Outcomes
The course learning outcomes for the Graduate Certificate in Research Methods are:
Create purposeful research projects as a response to identified research problems.
Understand various philosophical framework that informs research methods and designs
Evaluate prior research and practice as the foundation of theoretical frameworks that form the basis of research projects.
Design scientifically meritorious and ethically justified research projects that employ a range of quantitative and qualitative research methods

REQUIREMENTS
Applicants for this course must provide evidence that they hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent or higher) in any discipline(subject to verification).
Applicants whose highest qualification was not delivered in English must demonstrate English equivalency by providing evidence of one of the following:
- Academic IELTS: 6.5 or higher overall, with no band lower than 6.0; OR
- IBT (Internet-based TOEFL): Overall score of 79 with a writing section minimum of 21 and speaking 18; OR
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): Overall score 180, writing and speaking 180; OR
- Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): Overall 176 with a with a writing and speaking minimum score of 169; OR
- PTE Academic Module with a minimum score of 58 with a writing and speaking section minimum of 50; OR
- English For Academic Purposes Level 2 (EAP 2): Upper Intermediate ‘A’ grade or higher with IELTS 6.5 requirement.
