Event management and business subjects are supplemented by elective subjects from a range of business areas. Your choices include electives in fashion, marketing, tourism, entrepreneurship, hospitality and sports. Your electives allow you to enhance your event management degree with subjects that reflect your interests and ambitions.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the ICMS Bachelor of Event Management you will able to:

Develop, integrate and evaluate broad event management technical and theoretical knowledge.

Conduct qualitative and/or quantitative applied research, analyse and apply findings to an event management business practice.

Analyse data, create and communicate solutions to complex and unpredictable challenges in the events industry.

Integrate ethical and sustainable solutions into global events management business practices.

Recognise and analyse events management operations and challenges and identify and assess appropriate solutions.

Evaluate the most appropriate skills and technologies for the different challenges presented in event management contexts.

Communicate effectively in diverse event management contexts and across cultures.

In your final year of the Bachelor of Event Management, you will have the opportunity to participate in a ‘capstone’ subject, which allows you to choose a special area of focus within events, as a major project to test your abilities in addressing contemporary issues or problems in your area of interest.

REQUIREMENTS

Completion of NSW HSC (or equivalent) with a minimum Band 2 in English Standard or English EAL/D and any one of the suggested equivalent subjects, including Mathematics Standard 2, Business Studies, Economics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Investigating Science, Legal Studies, Financial Services or Business Services. ICMS does not use selection ranks for admissions. Applicants are assessed on performance in individual HSC (or equivalent) subjects and may be contacted by ICMS to attend an interview.

Entry requirements vary from country to country.

International Baccalaureate: Completed IB Diploma with a score of 24

Cambridge International Examinations or Edexcel GCE: Successful completion of GCE A-level with an aggregate of #6

BTEC: Successful completion of BTEC National Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in business or related area

Certificate IV: Successful completion of Certificate Level IV qualification (under the AQF), or its equivalent.

English Language Requirements

  • IELTS (academic) – Overall 6.0; Writing 5.5; Speaking 5.5
  • TOEFL iBT -Overall 60; Writing 18; Speaking 16
  • Pearson (academic) – Overall 46; Writing 36; Speaking 36
