COURSE DESCRIPTION
Leaders Institute’s Bachelor of Accounting is a comprehensive, contemporary course that provides graduates with a broad understanding of practical, technical, and theoretical accounting, financial and general business skills and knowledge. Graduates of the course acquire an education grounded in all facets of accounting practice inclusive of business finance, corporate and company law, taxation law, management and financial accounting, accounting theory and processes, and audit and assurance functions. Graduates acquire skills and knowledge in corporate governance, business ethics and professionalism. The course addresses all the curriculum requirements for graduates to be eligible to apply for professional recognition and membership of key peak bodies such as CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ).
Students will, through their degree, develop and apply theoretical knowledge and understanding in a variety of authentic learning tasks and assessments including case studies, reports, interviews, portfolios, oral presentations, and practical exercises individually and in small teams. Four separate mandatory work integrated learning experiences are integrated into the course. Graduates will be market-and business-ready and advocates of lifelong learning. Graduate employment possibilities include: business analysis, business risk and governance advice, financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, taxation, management consultancy, private practice.

Professional Accreditation:
Graduates who complete the Bachelor of Accounting meet the academic component of the requirements for membership to CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ).
Course Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the Bachelor of Accounting degree will be able to:
- Synthesise, strategise and apply the principles, concepts and contributing parameters of accounting, management, economics and finance in a business environment;
- Create innovative solutions, displaying judgement and decision making skills, for complex and routine business and management issues in regards to accounting principles;
- Communicate effectively and by interacting with others, to enhance learning and further understanding.
- Display social, professional and ethical leadership while working independently or in groups;
- Apply cognitive skills to undertake appropriate research and to analyse and evaluate multidisciplinary contemporary practice for application, development and improvement in accounting and governance;
- Apply principles of accounting and be able to analyse, with an awareness of the responsibility of developing business acumen, current and emerging practices to improve and contribute positively to the business field;
- Apply international contemporary standards and best practices so as to provide positive improvement towards the accounting principles that have been adopted.
REQUIREMENTS
International candidates may also be considered for admission by:
- Satisfactorily completing vocational and or tertiary studies in Australia or overseas, accredited under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), or
- Satisfactorily completing equivalent overseas studies
Students enrolling from non-English speaking countries are required to undertake an English language test and demonstrate English proficiency with a minimum score of:
- IELTS: 6.0 (Academic) with no sub-band less than 5.5
- TOEFL (paper based) 550 with a score of 5 or better in the Test of Written English
It is expected that students can demonstrate that the English language test was successfully completed within two years of the date of application for admission.
