Do you have a love of language and deep knowledge of more than one language and one culture? Are you meticulous? Do you have fantastic writing and public speaking skills? If so, a career in translating and interpreting may be your calling.
If you’re proficient in more than one language in addition to English, the Master of Translation and Interpreting Studies will provide you with the skills and knowledge you’ll require to perform translation and interpreting in a range of institutional settings common to community and commercial translation and interpreting practice in Australia and overseas. This degree allows you to study in the following languages paired with English: Chinese (Mandarin), French, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.

Undertake extensive targeted practice in both translation and interpreting, and in the use of computer-assisted translation tools. Enhance your learning with industry-standard technology
Study in translation and interpreting labs with the most up-to-date equipment, and language learning and translation software. Undertake industry-based practical experience
Work directly with clients via practicum projects across a variety of settings, such as government and language-service providers. Sit relevant NAATI interpreting certification tests
To be eligible to sit the tests, you must start your degree full-time in Session 1 to complete the three required units.
